On one hand, the massive consumerism and fast pace-lifestyle from the United States; on the other, the ingrained family values, rich cultural heritage, and artisanship\/craftsmanship, fix-it, make it-last culture from Mexico. This placed juxtaposing values on objects, materials, time, and what it means to acquire or possess an object. As a designer, I’ve decided to step away from mass-produced objects to slower, emotional design that aims to develop a close relationship with the user. I believe objects are emotional vessels and can hold deep meaning in a person’s life.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI studied industrial design and CEDIM (Monterrey-México) and I am on my way to start an MA in design products at the Royal College of Art.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ePrieta is born as an exploration and experimentation with ceramic, the forms it can take and the places it can inhabit.
